A close friend gave me [and others] a post-Halloween scare the other day when he fell ill and was admitted to hospital for 2 nights.
When his girlfriend dropped the news, I didn’t think much about anything else [other than shaving… Men need an excuse to shave] and began scrounging around for coins to catch a Train to see him.
Trains are Trains – an effortless means of public transportation, but some people; like my sick [better now] friend’s friend [who is a friend]; seem to think that catching a Train is a dangerous undertaking. [har-har-har up in har face]

Oshiya, or “pusher”, is an informal Japanese term for a worker who stands on the platform of a railway station during the morning and evening rush hours, and pushes people onto the train. This video is a good example of just how crowded it gets on Japanese trains!
