This beautiful white dove flying through the air is formed from a rocket exhaust trail twisting and drifting in the evening sky.

Though the bird is a traditional symbol of peace it was left behind by a test launch of a solid fuel missile that is able to carry multiple warheads.

Astronomer James Young captured the stunning pictures with a camera using a digi telephoto lens.

The astonishing example of twilight phenomena was recorded from Table Mountain Observatory in California as the rocket was carried thousands of miles over the Pacific ocean from its launch pad at Vandenberg Air Force Base. [DailyMail]
