‘Love’ & ‘Self Respect’ is the name of the game in “Scott Pilgrim Vs The World” (which is; I must add in this lengthily title; EPIC!!!) I Lesbians This Movie [cameos & easter eggs / fin’s movie review]
’Scott Pilgrim vs. the World’ is highly entertaining and so much fun! Watched an early morning screening with my lady friend (2nd date more or less) with 3 other randoms sitting in the back of the cinema, and it kicked!!!
Wasn’t even bothered that there was no-one to rip my ticket in half, as if I could have just walked into the cinema without paying Grrr. No I’m glad I have a keepsake ticket stub… really
It goes without saying, like most films (duh) this movie wont be for everyone, but for the Gamers, Geeks, Nerds, Dorks and Dweebs out there, Scott Pilgrim’s internal video-game-logic and comic book feel (Onomatopoeias RULE) will have you searching the video store for more of/like it. Which there isn’t. Soooo, just play more games I’d say.
This may be tip-toeing into SPOILER ALERT territory but you’re big enough to stop yourself from reading and doing drugs and junk – Just keep your eyes and ears open for pop-culture references galore with a great many hidden bonuses.
Actually, I’d like to share a few things that I noticed right heres right nows:

Young actress Mae Whitman (very talented) plays Roxy Richter one of the ‘seven evil exes’ (don’t give me that, you’ve all seen the trailers) she also played as Ann Veal in the TV series Arrested Development alongside Michael Cera as his on-again/off-again girlfriend – totally not a coincidence.

Also, hers is one of the best fight scenes in the movie. One of them. Try not to fall asleep *Ahem* 😉

During Pilgrim’s bus ride with Ramona Flowers, the blurred street-lights in the background were in the shape of lovehearts. One of those ‘attention to detail’ things I really really love seeing in movies:
Watchout for awesome things popping up on-screen like a HUD (heads-up-display):
Also keep an eye out for cool t-shirts like N64, AstroBoy and the Rock Band logo for bass guitar (above) incidentally, the instrument that Scott plays:

Pilgrim’s band Sex Bob-omb is named for the explosive enemies from Mario:

Another band in the Scott Pilgrim universe is ‘The Clash at Demonhead’ which refers to this 1989 NES game of the same name:
One of the more ultra-random appearances has to be the threat of the Vegan Police, a squadron of law enforcement officials that may or may not have a bone to pick with Todd Ingram, played by “Superman Returns” star Brandon Routh – such a douche

The P-Word of L-Word S-Word – Stats are an obvious reference to role-playing games:

And last but not least; in fact first, is the awesome 8-bit font video game-style typeface Studio opener. Seriously, it’s awesome.

‘Definitely’ the best representation of why the comic books are so fantastic and why movies are and excellent medium of entertainment, adaptation and, enlightenment? *Ahem* Kudos Edgar Wright for experimenting with the (already wicked) material, TOP SCORE!
! L E V E L U P !
Watching This Movie Will Make You Cooler, really…
