I love all of Satoshi Kon’s work. He was a great storyteller and one of my favourite filmmakers. Satoshi Kon definitely had talent and true genius. You will be missed.

Gainax employee Takeda Yasuhiro tweeted the news a short time ago, and it was confirmed by Madhouse’s Masao Maruyama via the Otakon committee.
