Taylor Mali “What Teachers Make”
Taylor Mali is an educator, writer and poet who speaks with conviction. He is an advocate of teachers and the nobility of teaching and has complete control over the measure of impact he wants his words to have on an audience. If anyone else on the planet was to repeat his words they would not ring with the same truths. I’m Mali’ed out, but take in his infamous “What Teachers Make” delivery and tell me he isn’t good:
Here here. Mali himself spent nine years in the classroom teaching everything from English and history to math and S.A.T. test preparation. He has performed and lectured for teachers all over the world, and his New Teacher Project has a goal of creating 1,000 new teachers through “poetry, persuasion, and perseverance.”
