The humble GIF — not quite video and not quite still image — just another simple and effective piece of digital indulgence the internet age has spawned. I like GIFs that are ironic, super hilarious or look mesmerizing, and there are many great moments in animation that are so fleeting that if you blink you’ll miss them. Luckily there are enough anime enthusiasts out there who have captured these subtle cells of colour and motion and converted them into repetitious windows of coolness:
