…I may be reading my poem to an audience… [F]
Second tutorial of the semester was today. Students introduced one another to the rest of the class. The dude next to me introduced me as “Fin, with one N” and how I was taking another paper with the same lecturer in it. That’s when the tutor’s eyes — Dr Selina Tusitala Marsh, who also happens to be the lecturer — widened and asked if I could read my poem at an upcoming poetry function she was attending soon at a gallery or something. I wasn’t listening. Not use to being the focus of attention so I said yes simply to move on. Yup. Isn’t that funny? My first open reading of poetry will not only be outside of the university curriculum in front of non-students but it will be about that damn whiteboard!
I am excited. I am afraid. I will never look at a whiteboard again the same way.

I’m pretty sure Selina mentioned there will be alcohol, so this might work.
