Sweethearts Amour Serrure Albert Park
Yesterday, while walking along the gates of Albert Park, I spotted a shiny object in the corner of my eye; sweethearts had left behind a love lock. I would say happy Valentine’s Day, only the lock says it’s from 2013… Better late than never to declare one’s love, I suppose?
One commenter on Facebook called out the lovers as being cheapskates for not flying over to Paris. It is a nice idea, but the truth is, the 700,000 padlocks left by amorous couples are smothering the iconic bridges of Paris and threatening their collapse.

I love this, but preservation is also very important. Not sure how serious people are taking this issue, considering locks are sold right besides the bridge for a mere five euro (€5)
What if all the locks were taken off the bridge, and then melted into one ginormous lock sculpture to symbolism the universality of love and tradition? As opposed to just throwing them. Couldn’t that appease all parties?
