Yakuza Apocalypse: The Great War Of The Underworld

I love Japanese filmmaker Takashi Miike. He is so prolific. I discovered him for myself in a terrific video store way back, and since then I have actually lost count of how many of his films I have seen on the big screen during the film festival season. So naturally, YAKUZA APOCALYPSE was no exception. Not his finest work but definitely a midnight movie worthy of festival goers. Went along with a friend this time and her reactions were just as entertaining lolz.

Miike returns to the demented brilliance of his V-cinema roots with a martial arts extravaganza which sees a clan of vampire yakuzas take on an international criminal syndicate led by a kick-ass giant frog mascot.
