•March 11, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock made cameo appearances in all of his movies. YouTube user royvanderzwaan, a collector of Hitchcock films, assembled (almost) all of these cameos into one video:

These are just the cameo appearances from the movies I own on DVD, missing are:

Easy Virtue (1927)
Blackmail (1929)
Foreign Correspondent (1940)
Suspicion (1941)
Spellbound (1945)
The Paradine Case (1947)
Under Capricorn (1949)

‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ WINS Three Razzies!!!

The Razzie Awards,” saluting the WORST that Hollywood has to offer each year:

Although Megan Fox was denied an acting award, Michael Bay scored a hat trick. ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ was awarded the high honors of Worst Picture, Worst Director, and Worst Screenplay.

I thought ‘Revenge of the Fallen’ was exactly like the first movie only in reverse – It starts out in the city and ends in the desert. Seriously Michael Bay, stop making these things jump and give us a decent car chase scene!!!

Underfull Tablecloth by Kristine Bjaadal – A Tablecloth That Reveals Images When You Spill Liquids On It

•March 10, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Underfull is a prototype tablecloth design by Kristine Bjaadal. It has a hidden butterfly pattern that is revealed only when it is stained. Bjaadal writes:

This creates stories and can contribute in giving the tablecloth sentimental value – important in a society where we seem to have an increasingly superficial relation to the objects we surround ourselves with.

TRON: LEGACY [movie trailer] / [screen caps]

TRON: LEGACY is a 3D high-tech adventure set in a digital world that’s unlike anything ever captured on the big screen. AWESOME!!! But where in this trailer was Jay Maynard aka Tron Guy and why not more Olivia Wild? HMMM???

Sam Flynn (GARRETT HEDLUND), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (JEFF BRIDGES), looks into his fathers disappearance and finds himself pulled into the digital world of Tron where his father has been living for 25 years.

Along with Kevins loyal confidant Qora (OLIVIA WILDE), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey of escape across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.

The one thing everyone seems to be the most excited about since the trailer debut is the appearance of the Reco, or the Recognizer.

The stark differences and similarities with the original easily demonstrate exactly what we’re in for in Tron Legacy. Everything just looks better, and it should.

Olivia Wilde’s character Quorra has ditched the white unitard for a leathery look, a dominatrix cut, eyeliner and wedge heels.

A small shot of the new light disc stadium, looks like a suspended clear racquetball court, if you look past the wall you can see what appears to be a crowd.

This film is gonna kick!

Stormtroopers with bad aim and dramatic pauses:

“I made this as part of an animation challenge on bricksinmotion.com. The goal was to make the coolest lightsaber duel possible. The lightsaber and blaster effects were done in photoshop.”

Well done; I was sold from the Wilhelm Scream on

Having Fun with Chatroulette

I think Chatroulette is a neat concept, but man I’ve seen some horrendous things on there. Aptly named after the risky game of “Russian Roulette” which is a potentially lethal game of chance:

The Hoverwing aka a Flying Boat by Rudy Heeman [DIY]

There are people out there who are less than impressed with this story, saying the concept isn’t anything new and that the Soviets designed a series of similar vessels in the 70s-90s during the Cold War. Well, none of them used their daughter’s scooter handle bars as a steering column did they? No!

It’s neither a plane nor a boat, but the latest invention of Nelson’s very own Flying Dutchman has people fascinated.

Hira resident Rudy Heeman, a mechanic who has spent the last 11 years building hovercraft in his spare time, has come up with a model that does more than skim the surface.

The hoverwing was an extremely efficient method of transport, and Mr Heeman said the optimum height for it was about 1.5m above the water – he reached 98kmh on his last speed test.

Civil Aviation Authority spokesman Bill Sommer said the vehicle was not classed as an aircraft because it used an air cushion which relied on water.

I WANT IT!!!

The perfect man is… a GEEK with facial stubble: Women’s secret turn-ons revealed

•March 3, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Women like men that are a little pudgy, geeky and with facial hair – I don’t know how accurate this poll (of 2500 woman) is, but I can’t accept its validity as an absolute truth… But man do I feel GOOD right now!

Most women claim to be attracted to tall, dark and handsome men, but a new study has revealed that facial stubble and a geeky personality are their biggest secret turn-ons.

Despite complaining that it looks unkempt and feels rough to touch, the unshaven look on a man is actually a turn-on for 41 per cent of women.

A slightly geeky personality came second, proving that women really do like a guy who knows their stuff when it comes to technology.

I remember Robot Wars well; (why did they stop broadcasting that wicked show?) well it’s the future now and these humanoid, bipedal robots with biomechanical joints from Japan move and fight in strange and TOTALLY AWESOME ways:

More from the ‘Robo-One’ Championships in Tokyo – this time, it’s two-legged robots punching their way to the title of ‘Best Robot Fighter’.

I can’t wait for the day when these are 20 feet tall!

‘Today Show’ Wii Fail

Awesome and hilarious sexual innuendo! I actually prefer Australia’s morning news ‘Today Show’ a lot more than I do New Zealand’s TV1’s ‘Goodmorning’ and TV3’s ‘Sunrise’.

An Australian morning news team catches up with curling, the latest It Sport, via Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. What’s the joke? Well, here it comes … here it comes!

Ohh the awesomeness of wireless controllers 😀

What Comes After the iPad Steve Jobs?

When the iPad was unveiled in January, everyone could agree on one thing: it did look a lot like a big iPhone. Begeek.fr extrapolates Apple’s consistent design to its logical conclusion in the company’s next two revolutionary devices:
