TRON Tennis

This is most definitely a game of the future. Like Running Man, Starship Troopers’ Jump Ball, Star Wars’ Holo Chess, Rollerball or XFL in The 6th Day; only better because of the fluorescence:

Sony Ericsson has put together a glow-in-the-dark Tennis event which was inspired by Disney’s Tron. Everything glows, from the players wardrobe, to the court, to the huge futuristic scoreboard wall, to the ball which is said to leave a glowing streak in the air. The game is set in a nightclub, with live music provided by club DJs.

I ‘could’ get into the game if it was more like this.

Nice company slogan. It’s kind of a win win situation for these elderly realtor nymphos wouldn’t you say. The one on the far right looks like a real go-getter.

Uwe Boll’s new game adaptation “FAR CRY” is a watered-down B-grade movie. So much explosive awesomeness potential WASTED! I like Uwe but at the same time I want to rip his balls out!

I was disappointed but not surprised. The game is set on lush tropical islands and dense rainforests. The enemies were skilful, rugged mercenaries. And later, the island becomes overrun with genetically enhanced monkeys and strong, brutish mutant humans.

Thrilling great fun with thematic elements aplenty.

This movie adaptation had none of this. No character development at all. The only thing faithful it had was the main title, and that only lasted 2 seconds. Also, the late Don S. Davis is in it, who I think is a professional in his own right.

Other than that; this is nothing new for Uwe Boll.

What if Women Were as Horny As Men? [NSFW…ish]

Kind of a gross exaggeration. I mean not all guys are horny sex hounds. Still, there is truth here. Subtly humorous:

On what seems to be just another ordinary day, a man is exposed to sexism and sexual violence in a society ruled by women:

Big-Break Courtesy Of Peter Jackson

Too cool not to post, and it’s a worldwide search! This sounds like fun. It reminds me of ‘On The Lot,‘ the short-lived reality show competition produced by Steven Spielberg and Mark Burnett for the FOX network.

I entered that online I did, I did. Then the show aired late nights and all the contestants were from either North or South America. Worldwide search my ass. What a jip. This however, sounds legit:

Peter Jackson is reuniting with his Lord of the Rings producer Barrie Osborne to give budding film-makers a three-minute shot at glory.

The ‘Your Big Break’ initiative was launched by Tourism New Zealand chief executive George Hickton at Jackson’s Park Road Post Production headquarters in Wellington yesterday.

The director said he was excited about encouraging new filmmakers: “There has to be a sense of continuation; there has to be somebody who looks at what we’re all doing and learns from what we’re doing and be inspired by it. It’s important that opportunities are … created to encourage young people.”

The competition, open to anybody from around the world, starts on December 9. It will require contestants to submit a screenplay for a three-minute film. Four finalists will be selected by an industry panel with the fifth person to be voted by the public.

The finalists will then shoot their short films with Osborne’s help. The winning film will be selected by Jackson.

Tourism New Zealand will spend $2 million on the campaign, half of which will be used by the finalists to make their films. [The Dominion Post]

James Cameron (AVATAR) has been talking about potentially remaking the manga Battle Angel Alita for some time now, but it’s always seemed like a distant reality. Now Cameron is hinting that the tech he’s developed for Avatar will be instrumental in Alita, and that the film may actually be closer than we thought.

Cameron recently spoke to MTV, who asked about the status of Alita, and if the film would be more difficult to produce since it’s more a mixture of live-action and CG elements. James Cameron’s response:

The mixture of live-action and CG is a little trickier in 3-D than it is 2-D. Now we see it’s good to have done Avatar first before Battle Angel, because the tricky scenes are where you’re blending live-action photography, stereoscopic photography and CG.

Shooting live stuff in 3-D and then adding CG characters and landscapes beyond that, that’s a little tricky.

…We’re not that far down the line. We have a very good script and we’ve done a lot of production design. We’ve done about a year of production design and we’ve put together an art reel that shows the arc of the film.

This LEGO slow-moving bullet-dodging scene from The Matrix was created by Trevor Boyd and Steve Ilett to celebrate the movie’s 10th anniversary. It’s well made:

After around 440 hours of work, and just in time for the 10th anniversary of the original movie release, we are pleased to present to you our Lego version of the famous Bullet Time dodge scene from The Matrix.

unfortunately, no one can be told, what the LegoMatrix is…

You have to see it, for yourself…

This is one heavy Mod:

You’ll need to hit 88 MPH and FPS to actually go back to the future, but we promise the effects in this DeLorean mod for Crysis/Crysis Wars will leave you like a slack-jawed Doc Brown. No hoverboards or locomotives, sadly, but that is a fully-functioning DeLorean.

Far Out!  Nice one an1sh
