You may think the weird Happy Meal bundling came during the ’80s, but McDonalds was already busy making sure kids got their fix of movie-promotion McNuggets by 1979. Today is a good day to supersize.

ZOMG!!! Director Shinya Tsukamoto, you are GREAT!!!

Director Shinya Tsukamoto announced that he’s made an English-language sequel to the Japanese cult series Tetsuo, coming out in 2010, called Tetsuo: The Bullet Man!

I remember watching the first two and cracking up in laughter; then having nightmares later that night. There really aren’t any other films like Tetsuo.

Hailed as one of the greatest Japanese cyberpunk movies of all time, Tetsuo: The Iron Manis about a salaryman hit by a car who gradually starts turning into a car himself. Finally his body becomes a mass of steel and wires, and his penis a giant drill – which he promptly uses on his girlfriend. Impressionistic and dark, the movie at times looks like an industrial music video. All the effects are stop-motion animation and prosthetics, with manage to capture the gooey, rusting look of a man halfway between office worker and deadly machine.

The new movie comes over a decade after the sequel. Tsukamoto said through an interpreter that he made it with US-based Ace Productions. It’s about an American named Antony working in Tokyo, married to a Japanese woman. He makes the agonizing transformation into Tetsuo when their son Tom is killed by the same evil driver who creates the Tetsuos in previous films.

Tsukamoto hopes that Tetsuo: The Bullet Man will be a good way for newbies to the series to get into it. He said that if you watch Bulletman it makes a perfect entre to the two previous Japanese films. He says he chose to film his first English film in Tokyo because that city is “a true cybercity – the most cyberpunk city in the world.”

The movie will be completed in September, when it will hit the festival circuit. And the director says he hopes to open it worldwide in 2010. [via io9]

Man this is gonna be one disturbingly kooky film!

Flordia city manager fired over having a porn actress wife

Scott Janke

The mayor of a small southwest Florida town on Thursday defended the town council’s decision to fire its city manager after officials learned his wife Anabela Mota Janke is an adult film actress, whose stagename is Jazella Moore.

Mayor Larry Kiker insisted that Scott Janke’s termination had nothing to do with his spouse’s job, that the town was merely trying to maintain order.

“What we were addressing was a situation where we weren’t going to be able to govern the town with all the disruption and interruption,” Kiker said.

The plan appears to have backfired.

“I’ve done over 30 interviews (with media) … I’ve gotten hundreds of e-mails, we’re getting threatened,” Kiker said. “Nobody is getting any work done around here.”

Still, Kiker insisted that Janke wasn’t fired because of his wife’s job.

Jazella Moore

“We didn’t fire him because his wife was a porn star,” Kiker griped, adding that the decision wasn’t a “knee-jerk reaction.”

However, the mayor also noted: “It was not his job performance. We all liked Scott … He’s a good guy

Ok I’ll be honest; I don’t give a Half-blood Muggle-shit about Harry Potter, but this video however is very interesting.

What better surprise for a young Harry Potter fan than to have Daniel Radcliffe sneak up on you? Only for this particular Japanese Harry Potter fan, it’s almost a little too much for her to handle.

“Amazing! I can hear his heartbeat!”

I think she just had her first Geekgasm
