Congratulations Ladyhawke! – Taking home six Tuis from the New Zealand Music Awards

Basically, her music is great. And Pip Brown is a very talented artist.
She won Album of the Year for her self-titled debut album of infectious ’80s-influenced pop, which was released in September, 2008 and has gone gold in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, and reached No. 16 on the UK album charts. She won Single of the Year for the song My Delirium, which was also performed live.
The shy and slightly embarrassed Masterton-born singer said she was “humbled” by the experience, and – after going to the podium six times in the night – was a little lost for words.
“I feel like I don’t deserve this award,” she said after accepting the Tui for Album of the Year. “This is blowing my mind … I’m not very good with words … I’m so stoked.”
How awkward was the red carpet and backstage coverage? I felt embarrassed just watching those C4 interviewers pretend to be professional ass-kissing comedians.
The award ceremony ended for me after Ladyhawke performed.
I came back to watch the Mint Chicks play, but FUNK it pissed me off how they broadcasted their performance in black and white. Congratulations Ladyhawke!
