Lucky Man: Michael J. Fox’s Memoir [F]
I spent my Saturday reading this book: Lucky Man A Memoir by Michael J. Fox. I found it in my aunties unexciting book shelf while everyone was outside in the sun. It reads like any autobiographical book, telling of his upbringing and the various turning points in his life that led him to fortune and fame. But it goes much deeper than that.
I was expecting to mostly read up on plenty of Back to the Future politics, but what I got instead was an insight into the pitfalls and social anxieties that fame brings. It’s more this than about his fight with Parkinson’s Disease because to Michael this isn’t even considered a major hindrance to his life.
Anyway, I didn’t exactly finish reading the book on account of a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare2 game 😉 (I wasn’t gonna be a book-worm jerk all day), but I’d definitely buy it if I came across it in a book store.
