Pothole Art by Jim Bachor — Simultaneously Filling & Beautifying Chicago’s Potholes with Mosaic Flowers
♥ This is a great idea. Of course this is not a permanent solution to Chicago’s road safety issues around the streets of the city, but what a great, creative use of space and resources. Don’t stare too long though, these are found on the road after all:
What makes these extra cool is the fact that as of last February, it was estimated that there were roughly 600,000 potholes in the city. There is even an online Pothole Tracker, which maps potholes patched by the city’s Department of Transportation in the last 7 days.
Bachor installed four mosaics through this fall while the weather cooperated, but as things get cooler in the States, we’ll probably see less of his street art. See more photos and the addresses where each piece was installed @ Bachor.com
