ART IN THE DARK
Art in the Dark is an interactive showcase of various light-art installations that incorporate light, movement and the open environment of the park, after sunset:
For four nights, Art in the Dark lights up Western Park with creative projects from the most innovative Kiwi artists, using sustainable materials and energy, film projections, performances and large-scale immersive experiences — best of all; all are welcome to view these brilliant pieces free of charge:

Me & my brother — Only ones rocking glowsticks in the park (+ Renée).
“Yashoda”by Craig Neilson and Reza Fuard.
Jeremy Fern & Simon Garrett’s “Not Nothing”
Sensitive Boyfriend “Moon balloon”
Steven Tang & Karla Fordham’s “Tunnel Vision”

The dancing astronaut was pretty rad, but my favourites of the night were definitely “Biolumination” (bioluminescent bacteria Vibrio fisheri) by Dr. Siouxsie Wiles & Rebecca Klee, and the low-fi, interactive zoetrope-like projection device, “Kaleidoscope” by Laura Cibilich, both artists of whom I had the pleasure of meeting on the night.
The People Who Play With Theatre’s “Pink & White Terraces”
