Björk “Stonemilker” [360° interactive music video]

Icelandic vocalist Björk, never-ceasing to amaze and inspire, released her music video for ‘Stonemilker’ and it is interactive, allowing you to control the direction of the camera in a panoramic 360° tilt and panning motion, as if Björk were serenading you, in real-time.

Shot on location in Iceland by award-winning director Andrew Thomas Huang, Björk’s ‘Stonemilker’ is a 360 degree virtual reality experience, taken from the album, Vulnicura.

One of the most forward-thinking musicians in the game, Björk is no stranger to futuristic experimentation and expression, with many groundbreaking music videos throughout her extensive career. I will surely feature more of her work in later posts.

Speaking of “posts”, ahem; Björk’s second solo album, Post, debuted 20 years ago (13 June 1995). Back in 1995, some people didn’t get Björk. 20 years later some people still don’t get Björk. Play those folks Post nice and loud, and watch as they recognize how modern music is slowly catching up with one of its bravest innovators. As an additional peice of info; Björk’s ‘real’ first album ‘self-titled’ Björk, was released when the artist was just 12 years old! She was unhappy with the project, saying; “I was a kid. My name was on the album, but those were not my songs.” Talk about creative genius huh.
