Massive Attack — “Voodoo In My Blood” feat. Young Fathers [music video] w/ Actress Rosamund Pike
Starring alone in Massive Attack’s latest music video of the single “Voodoo in My Blood” off their new Ritual Spirit EP (Massive Attack’s first new material since Heligoland in 2010), is actress Rosamund Pike, giving one intense and violent performance as she’s manipulated like a puppet by a mysterious floating metal sphere with sinister powers:
Sound Engineer: Aaron Reynolds / Director: Ringan Ledwidge / Production Company: Rattling Stick.
Considering the orb must’ve been CGI’d in later, Pike is literally reacting to nothing the entire time, making her performance all the more impressive. I love it. It reminds me of rhythmic gymnastics a little bit, only, the opposite with the roles of control reversed. I am reminded not in terms of force, obviously — that sphere was pissed about something — but in these athlete’s malleable contortions …plus shiny ball:
Go, Son Yeon Jae! Yes, rhythmic gymnastics HAS taken over this post. It wasn’t intentional, but I did let it happen.
Back to Rosamund Pike; did you know she was a bond girl in “Die Another Day” (2002) alongside Pierce Brosnan?! The teaser for this movie looks insane!
That is how you do a trailer! Now, how about some action without any balls:
