Before I come to my already concluded [naive] opinion about TWITTER and how obviously stupid the whole concept is – a lazy forum for opinions menial updates about the mundane and small things that go on in life.
Once in a blue-moon-while, something [or someone] interesting will tweet, but far and in-between, I think TWITTER is a media-circus whip, a Dictaphone for big brother, a confessional for the pill poppers and an indulgent fan for the attention whores of high society…
– I thought I’d give it a try.
THEN bag on it later. “Secret, Agent Man! Secret, Agent Man!”♪
Wow, one tweet and I think I’m over it. Here’s my conclusion: Twitter is mostly for people with an addictive compulsion to gossip about other people. Me, I can’t help but tire quick.
Sorry tweety bird, you can’t say I didn’t try hahaha 😛
UPDATE: Ah crap. I can’t leave now, David Lynch and Ant Timpson are on Twitter.
Amazing as usual! I love this artist’s work. Blu is a street artist from Argentina. He takes graffiti to a whole new level, creating animations on public walls and sidewalks:
FINALLY some sunny weather! I went for a walk today and found a great wall:
Yesterday, an event called “THE NEXT LEVEL” took place on Chipmunks’ back wall. With pre-planned concepts, it was an all out graffiti art clash with no brand or paint restrictions. Here are some of the results:
It was a very high standard reached by all artists but in the end Askew came out in first place. [above]
Neat concept! Someone should resurrect this idea. Young Me Now Me is the brainchild of Ze Frank[apparently the man himself is an Internet phenomenon] The link to the actual website has a broken 404 link, so i’m just gonna source the pictures from various sites and post as many as I can here.
Some people didn’t seem to ‘get it’, but others were well matched. The results are fascinating:
Color Wars 2008held a competition for people to submit a photo of themselves when they were young and another photo trying to recreate that moment as they are now.
Basically, her music is great. And Pip Brown is a very talented artist.
She won Album of the Year for her self-titled debut album of infectious ’80s-influenced pop, which was released in September, 2008 and has gone gold in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, and reached No. 16 on the UK album charts. She won Single of the Year for the song My Delirium, which was also performed live.
The shy and slightly embarrassed Masterton-born singer said she was “humbled” by the experience, and – after going to the podium six times in the night – was a little lost for words.
“I feel like I don’t deserve this award,” she said after accepting the Tui for Album of the Year. “This is blowing my mind … I’m not very good with words … I’m so stoked.”
How awkward was the red carpet and backstage coverage? I felt embarrassed just watching those C4 interviewers pretend to be professional ass-kissing comedians.
The award ceremony ended for me after Ladyhawke performed.
I came back to watch the Mint Chicks play, but FUNK it pissed me off how they broadcasted their performance in black and white. Congratulations Ladyhawke!

This is amazing! So the dust storm was very much like God saying “Hey guys, try this.”
Scientists commissioned to track the effects of the Sydney dust storm have found something intriguing – a massive growth spurt in nearby ocean algae growth, which could help counteract global warming. Could the storm be proof-of-concept for geoengineering the oceans?
The dust storm accomplished something that geoengineers call “ocean fertilization.” When the storm hit Sydney, it dumped an estimated three million tonnes of Australian desert dust into Sydney Harbour and the Tasman Straight. That dust brought nitrogen and phosphate to the waters, providing food to microscopic phytoplankton, whose population numbers rapidly tripled (which is what you see in the image above). And that in turn may rapidly expand the population of local fish, too. Boosting the lower levels of the food chain can easily lead to population growth at the higher rungs.
In other words, Ocean Fertilization can trap atmospheric carbon and isolate it from the atmosphere for a few thousand years. That’s a good thing. But the effect it has on the ocean is still being disputed. The argument being that natural intake will produce different effects than deliberately dumping tonnes of the material [dead algae full of carbon] into the ocean.
Australian geoengineers Ian Jones and Associate Professor Rob Wheen, both of Sydney University, want to inject 2.5 tonnes of nitrogen-rich urea into a controlled area of the sea and try to replicate the effect. They claim that nourishing a 20km wide patch of water could significantly boost catch numbers for small-scale artisanal fishing industries.
The process still very controversial, and the act of massively changing the makeup of the biosphere is practically begging for algae to take over the ocean as we know it and start belching sulfurous fumes into the air.
There’s something about the low-tech aesthetic of this video that I really admire. It plays well with the song. Enjoy Kiwi Music!!!
In keeping with the DIY aesthetic, the band recorded ‘Snake Charmer’ at The Wall Studios [Pluto have formed their own record label, Slow Rodriguez Records, built their own recording studio, The Wall, and incorporated their own graphic design suite all topped off with a green screen studio for music video shoots!],where their next album will also be produced.
The release of ‘Snake Charmer’ will be ushered in with their first music video from The Wall that was made with the help of talented director Florian Habicht (Woodenhead, Kaikohe Demolition).
Pluto are: • Milan Borich (lead vocals, guitar) • Tim Arnold (guitar, vocals) • Matthias Jordan (keyboards, vocals) • Mike Hall (bass, vocals) • Michael Franklin-Browne (drums)
O for awesome [way to go David Tua]
Here’s a fun fact; Pluto’s lead vocalist Milan Borich starred as a child actor in a film called “My Grandpa Is a Vampire” which also starred Al Lewis, many of whom would recognise as Grandpa from “The Munsters“. The film was directed by infamous NZ filmmaker David Blyth; A man who lectured at South Seas Film School during which year I attended.
Where did it come from you ask? The perfect Kiwi coin phrase:
Sporting legend David Tua knows his way around the boxing ring alright, but in this episode of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune he loses his way around the English language and thus… 🙂
I think he meant to say “O” for Olsen, which he did. As in Olsen Filipina who is a friend of Tua’s and a kiwi league player. But he sounds fresh enough that it could be awesome.
David Tua is ranked number 1 heavyweight contender from New Zealand and Western Samoa. He had a boxing match last weekend that the media, as usual in this country, pretty much blew way-out of proportion (“David Tua v Shane Cameron – The Fight of the Century” WTF), and Tua was slated to be the loser against Shane Cameron. Well…
Tua smashed Shane Cameron who lasted only two rounds. Shame. Shame and “HA, HA!” Seeing that on the front page of the New Zealand Herald made me chuckle a little bit. Isn’t that funny.
Personification of a fly. These are disturbingly funny. By using dead flies, this person has created a series of one-panel comic strips, putting the flies in various positions and then drawing around them with a pencil:
EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!
Swedish guy, if you visit my site, can you please draw the DeLorean DMC-12 Time Machine? That would be most heavy.
I hate, I hate, I hate procrastination. And as an aspiring filmmaker, procrastination is the pits. So in an attempt to get something productive done and out-of-the-way this year, I thought I might put myself on the pedestal; implementing this blog as a means of motivation.
I don’t know how much sense that made to you, but I think there’s some logical truth in my words. Git-r-done Fin!
ZO (20) is a diabetic, schizophrenic, injured skater who has visions of a beverage, high in sugar. A running joke to his younger brother. Zo is constantly eating tofu (against his will) to maintain his blood sugar level and stress. But one day he disobeys the health warnings and seeks out the forbidden energy drink.
One (potentially dangerous) sip transforms him into a hero. All the signs were there.
I’m still working out the kinks, but it should be A LOT of fun… If I git-r-done…
