This is a supercut of Spock saying “fascinating.” Excellent catchphrase, but someone please slap me if I begin to repeat it:

Who knew Serenity was in possession of Han Solo’s carbonated body? Fellow geekdom blogger Amy Ratcliffe did! She discovered this gem and shared her finding on her blog Geek With Curves, but I suspect she may have been tipped off by Boba Fett himself:
Heart of Gold – Han Solo in Firefly
Objects in Space – look to the left of Book on the counter
The Message – look above Kaylee’s hammock on the top right
Apparently, the props department jokingly added the statue on set, as the show’s star Nathan Fillion is a big Star Wars fan, and in a bunch of cases, the statue was never caught or removed before filming began. [more]
“There’s a rumor that there’s one hidden in every episode, but these are the only ones I could dig up. It makes me extraordinarily happy to know about this hidden gem in the Firefly ‘verse.” – Amy
The sound and video quality is low-fi, but I think this level of distortion adds something to videos and makes them more homely. Or maybe that’s just me; I can stand the aesthetic, especially when it’s Björk covering Joy Division’s “Love Will Tear Us Apart”
Björk sang last week at the three-day Karaoke Marathon For Icelandic Nature (aka “The Voice Of The People”), an event raising awareness about a petition to block Magma Energy’s takeover of Iceland’s geothermal and thermal energy. [read more]
It was held at the Nordic House in Reykjavik and has so far resulted in 46,000 signatures!
Like to pop-&-lock like a robot do you? You may want to take a few notes; 14 minutes worth:
The stamina and concentration required to keep in and out of sync is impressive and must be quite demanding on the body. But I bet you they love it! Awesome stuff RemoteKontrol, bring yo funk to kiwiland please. You put these guys under:
I love Ice Age; good characters, good dialogue, great voice talent and well written structure. ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT, the fourth film in the franchise, set for release in 3D on July 13th, 2012. I watched the last one in 3D and it was AWESOME! So I’m not gonna miss this.
Fans of the Ice Age movies should be entertained by this short film, starring everyone’s favorite saber-toothed squirrel as he manages to mess with the Earth’s geology in search of his elusive acorn.
This advert for Absolute’s Lemon Drop Vodka is full of WIN and it stars the striking Ali Larter, so you can’t really go wrong:
Want more? Why not watch this short spoof in all it’s entirety:

Haha so cool, well done!

I recently threw a question about some personal things I’ve experienced out into the great yonder we call the ‘world wide web’, and I got a response!

Pepe-le-pew and Penelope Hahaha, how appropriate.
My question was; how is it I know when a specific woman is nearby all because of her smell – and I’m certain that her smell isn’t moisturizer or perfume? I look around and hey presto, there she is. I hone in on her scent, which just mentioning it now, makes me feel like a freak…
My anonymous answer guy happens to have been part of a project studying pheromones. His scientific answer makes me feel slightly better about myself and my other, err, abilities aptitudes if you will, that I have noticed.
If you’re wondering why I’m so open about my personal stuff, well, I’m not exactly protecting information from anyone specific, and the way I see life; the day we die, all these things we hold onto like secrets, personal embarrassments like flaws and imperfections (things that make us relatable and lovable) and guilty thoughts; it will all mean absolutely nothing anyway. Why worry? We are all growing and changing, so live in the now. This works for me anyway. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
I learn about myself by finding out things about others, people who are not afraid to speak up and share their own thoughts and sometimes sexual fantasies, especially when the topic is a little strange and personal. We all have more in common than we’re brought up to believe I feel. So here’s another tiny quirk about yours truly, again – blah blah blah:
[FIN]: “There’s a young woman, who I always know when she is near because… I can smell her. She smells amazing and the weird thing is, I don’t think it’s her moisturizer or perfume.
***
I want to ******** *** *** ********* ******, but I think I’ll just come off weird. But man she smells amazing; homely and warm is how I would describe her scent, not sweet or perfumey at all. I feel like a freak just mentioning it, but it’s true.
Could it be her sweat? Is there such a thing as a natural attraction to how someone smells? I don’t know what I should do in this odd situation really… Advice?
Enjoy from a distance like a strange person seems to be the safest option at this point huh? ps. My ex smelt really great, but I mentioned this at a bad time and she probably thought I was batshit anyway…crazy me huh. So I know attraction alone is not enough. Answers?”
[PROF]: “It’s very possible that her pheromones agree with you. If so, welcome to a unique group of men who are often more successful at detecting female pheromones and often similarly successful with women.
At ********** I was part of a study of pheromones where we had men and women come in once a week to smell a range of very concentrated components of pheromones – male and female. Women were much more sensitive to all pheromones, positive or negative to them, but especially receptive to male pheromones they detected as positive to them, at some times of month for them (we tracked women’s period/ovulation dates too). Some men reacted to very few pheromones (could smell hardly anything) while some men were super sensitive to pheromones. A small percentage preferred only same-sex as them pheromones.
Some men reacted very negatively to female pheromones they did not like. We also tracked number of days all had intercourse each month. Men with good ‘nose’ for pheromones had more sex than other men. Most women’s pheromone scent in real life is not pronounced enough to be consciously smelt, or until the man is up very close nose to skin. A man may not even realise the very faint smell, to him, is why he is so attracted to a particular woman.
If it is her pheromones then do remember her pheromones are not all of who she is. Though clearly physical attraction is heightened if you are attracted to her pheromones. Women’s pheromones scent can be raised and more pronounced at different times of the month for her. But it sounds like her pheromones agree with you 24/7 365 days of the year. Making her unique to you. Just be a gentleman in her presence, even if she does excite you. If she is already in a relationship you will need to find another lady. Treasure your unique skill.”
Wow, he mentioned the word ‘pheromones’ 17 times! Quite encouraging, though I’ve never been a Casanova. I’m not the type to put my foot down and label things as either full fact or fiction; but It’s cool to know that there are people out there with similar thoughts, positive opinions and helpful information.
So Doc, are you telling me I’m a Werewolf! There’s a saying that goes, ‘the nose knows’ but who ever said that probably didn’t mean it in relation to being able to smell people’s pheromones. Another responder also left an opinion:
[Jane Doe]: “It’s not weird, nor is it pheromones. I just recently met a man who continuously tells me I smell like “Windmill Cookies.”
He is wildly drawn to me and my scent. I am certain it is not perfume because I don’t wear it often. And my perfume is musky, not sweet. I was amused at first, then flattered. It reminds him of a happy time in his youth and much like your description, he says being around me and my smell is “warm, and comforting.”
Hmm, a new chapter for me has opened and I should probably start talking to girls more and find me a geneticly compatible mate! I’ll keep ALL my sex weirdness to myself though so don’t worry. (Argh as if I needed another reason to feel strange) Wish me luck and smell you later 😉

Move over Lava-Lamp. Insrtuctables is a terrific site! I’ve dabbled in a few diy projects myself, but nothing as comprehensive as this. Teach yourself everything from theory of operation, how to build the cube, to the inner workings of the software:
About halfway through the Instructable, you will actually have a fully functional LED cube. The remaining steps will show you how to create the software. (create what now?)
Cool. Make the next one in RGB please!
Short and sweet; I’m really loving the ambiance in their new performance video:
Directed by Timothy Saccenti / From Blonde Redhead’s new album, Penny Sparkle: http://bit.ly/d9GCvG
Cool song. The way Kazu moves makes me want to get up and sway with the dust. The Blonde Redhead trio comprises of Kazu Makino and twin brothers Simone and Amedeo Pace. If you liked that then you’ll probably love their new album, released late last year.
