That baby is UNBREAKABLE

•October 18, 2009 • Leave a Comment

…Or is in a very high quality stroller.

WARNING – THIS VIDEO MAY SHOCK SOME VIEWERS.

Security video has been released of the moment a pram carrying a baby rolled into the path of a Melbourne train. Miraculously, the baby survived.

As you can clearly see in the video, the pram rolls off the platform and onto the tracks. The frantic driver slams on the brakes, but the train still pushes the pram 30m along the track.

A person on the platform stopped the mother jumping onto the tracks to try to save the child.

The six-month-old received only minor injuries, and paramedics say being strapped into the pram probably saved the baby’s life.

The [REC]2 $5K Buzz Challenge

•October 15, 2009 • Leave a Comment

New Zealand’s very own cult film guru legend, Ant Timpson (48HOURS, Incredibly Strange Film Fest, 24Hour Movie Marathon), has been in talks with [REC]2 distributor – Vendetta Films, and has come up with a challenge for all budding filmmakers and internet lovers alike:

Indie films wage an ongoing war with major releases for awareness and promotion in a cluttered market space. It’s a war independent films are losing. Some cool films deserve to be seen in cinemas with an audience of fans. Films like REC2, the terrifying sequel to the horror hit REC.

REC2 will be released in a few New Zealand theatres on Black Friday (13 Nov), and I’m helping the distributor – Vendetta Films – to get the word out. The catch? They only have a few thousand to market it.

So I pitched Vendetta to let me give away 75% (Five Thousand Dollars Cash) to any individual(s) who promote (Buzz) the movie REC2 in the boldest and most innovative fashion. They said yes.

To be in to win the $5k all you need to do is use the untapped power of your mind. How’s that for a recession buster? For more information, read here and here. – Ant

$5000 cash awaits one creative idea, so get to it.

Yes, it is as fun as it sounds. This man’s suspenseful commentary helps too:

Hiii-larious!!! …Though there is a down side.

What if had there been something in the puddle such as glass, rocks or metal? Adults might be fine; kids on the other hand. Just think about it.

Modern Alfred Hitchcock Posters by Matt Needle / and a ‘special thank you’ to Kiwi icon/pioneer Chris Knox

•October 15, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Remembering to keep it simple, Alfred Hitchcock fan/artist Matt Needle re-imagined a series of posters for the films of Hitch.  As you can see, the only differences are an iconic image from each movie placed in the director’s famous profile, and the titles:

Modern Hitchcock Posters

It was in high school that I realized I wanted to devote part of life to film, and I have Mr Hitchcock and his works to thank.

Hitchcock explains the Kuleshov Effect to Fletcher Markle. 1964

On that note, I would also like to thank Kiwi rock & roll musician, cartoonist, and knowledgeable film buff icon, Chris Knox for his enthusiasm toward creativity and for his role in hosting New Zealand’s only series devoted to screenings of classic movies, entitled “The Vault” — My first encounter with Hitchcock. I loved that show Mr Knox!

The Vault

Before each movie Chris gives an enticing insight as to what can be expected in the movie, a brief background and any trivia and quirky hints of what to look out for during the movie. After the movie he does a summing up in his closing link filling in any gaps the audience may or may not have noticed. Chris’s animated style personalises The Vault.

Earlier this year Chirs Knox had a stroke ‘whilst watching Frankenstein (orig. 1931 James Whale version o’course)’. The medical prognosis was grim but Mr Knox is much better and recovering. Thank you, sir.

People have been left baffled by a circular light, seen hovering high over Moscow on Wednesday evening. Scientists have rejected claims of UFO activity, saying the white cloud was no more than an optical illusion.

Pole Dancer Falls Hard After Passionate Performance [SFW]

I have never been to a strip club before, nor do I see the appeal. Seriously, I understand the concept but not the point. I’d watch endless videos of people falling off poles though. The contestant in the video gets a little out of control with an intense sequence at the end of her routine. Enjoy the whole routine or skip to 2:10

People have taken an activity that was meant for the dark stages of strip clubs and developed full workout routines and turned pole dancing into an art form. Now there’s a pole dancing world championship, which was held in Moscow recently. No stripping or nudity just ballet on a pole. These girls are good too, it’s a weird combination of athleticism and erotica.

You go girl!

Cool mod! I am surprised, but of course there’s a thriving Power Wheels customization community on the internet, duh. I’ve just never bothered to look into it until now.
